Kira has over a decade of public accounting experience and specializes in business, personal, gift/trust, and estate taxation and planning. Her business clients include those in the construction, real estate, manufacturing, agriculture, medical and professional services industries. She has worked extensively in the Private Client Service world and has helped individual clients with income tax, estate, trust, and gift compliance and planning.
Kira graduated from WWU with a degree in Accounting and Finance in 2004 and began her career as a CPA at a national public accounting firm. Early in her career, Kira’s passion for her clients was apparent and word spread as she began working with individuals up and down the West coast. True to her small town roots (she grew up in Coupeville), she decided to focus her work on local clients and joined the Metcalf Hodges family as an owner in 2015.
Kira has been a long-time volunteer for Junior Achievement because she feels strongly about giving kids the tools they need for business and financial success. She has volunteered in classes ranging from Kindergarten through 5th grade at many different schools and loves spending time with the students. She also volunteers for several non-profit boards in Whatcom County. She is the Treasurer and Vice Chair, and sits on the Investment & Finance Committee for the Whatcom Community Foundation, and is an active Board member for the Whatcom Community College Foundation.
Outside of work Kira enjoys spending time with her family and several dogs.
